Thanks to all of our volunteers for the Matthews Alive parade and the football game!!! We still need Pit Crew volunteers, and help with the refreshments at football games’ half-time and the competitions. Your help is much appreciated. Even if you can only help with one event, it will make a difference. Contact Laura Bulson OR Phyllis Cunningham. They’d love to hear from you and get you involved!
Practice will be as scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15 both weeks for ALL band members, and on Monday, September 8 for Drumline and Color Guard only (3:15 to 5:15).
Home football game Friday, September 5, 2008. Summer uniforms will be required. Remember that football games and competitions have mandatory attendance.
The first installment of $50 to your student’s account is now due. If you have fundraised that amount through Citipass or the March-a-thon, get the checks in this week!! If you signed up for HT or Matthews Alive, you are considered to have made the $50 deposit. All others please send a check/money order with your student, have them put their name and “student account” on the outside of the envelope and put it in the lock box.
If you are new and have not ordered your shoes, do so ASAP. Contact Don Addis at 704-786-9111 or go to www.donaddis.com/band/band_shoes.htm. We wear the “showstoppers” style. Your student will need these on September 26, 2008.
The band and color guard uniforms will be distributed soon (possibly next week). A $30 deposit is required for all “new to band” students and those who turned in their uniforms without having them dry-cleaned. This deposit must be made before a uniform will be issued, so plan accordingly.
If you want to “earn” money for the student account without selling anything, contact Hema Vijay for a HT VIC TIE sign up day at the Mintworth HT. There are still some spots open.
